Great macro James. The detail is great, especially if the distance from top to bottom is taken into account. Very well composed (i like the diagonal arangement and the upright format) and presented. Kind regards.

Your identification is correct Peter, after posting it I took a while researching what it was and came to the same conclusion as you, although there are that many different colours and markings for this species I wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for the comment.

Hi James! Good composition! The sharpness on the leaf and spider, the backgroundblur is perfect. This could be a stretch spider(tetragnatha extensa). The European species are not so big, about 1/2inch for the body without the legs. They are very common near ponds and have mostly flies for food.There are many underspecies with many different markings.Keep those insectsphoto's coming !
