Wow, Carsten, you are really poking back into the past... If you got back far enough you'll find a lot of use made of my favourite lens, the Voigtlander 21mm F/4. For a while I was using almost nothing else. That was when I was shooting only RFs.

There is something special about those super wides, my eyes get stuck at your wide angles. This fisheye seems to be tack sharp, and its (normal) distortion is very effective here. I love the curves of the tree and branches, and the lakeshore. Excellent photo !

Cheers

Carsten

Lovely lacey image, I like the soft subtle colours, it suits the subject. A "JER" sky would have killed this.

Ok, well I know very little about fisheye lenses, but I love this image. This is a very interesting tree creating a marvelous diagonal composition. I love the colors and the way the tree leans down into the picture as if it were saying 'wait look at me'. I can visualize the atmosphere of sitting in the shade of that beautiful cherry tree, and I just love the whole feel of it. The colors at the bottom of the photo are a nice contrast to the colors at the top. Lovely image of a tree filled with character, you presented it very well....all the best, Linda

Actually, Chris, I tried de-fishing this but it only spread out the four corners, smearing and blurring the blossoms a bit. It didn't do ANYTHING to straighten out the cherry tree, which is that shape, or very close to it, quite naturally. I feel a bit like you must do when I suggest you imported a sky and it was actually quite natural! Not guilty, m'Lud! Lines going through the center of the image are quite undistorted, it's those running near the edges that get all curvacious.

Yes, a darker sky would have been nice, but I still like the contrast between trunk and blossom ~ both shade and texture ~ and I like the shape of the trunk too, distorted as it is by the fisheye.
Best regards, Chris

love the cherry blossoms.. nicely captured, although some do seem to get lost in the sky. Too bad that the sky was not darker or more blue so that they stood out more. Like the long branches of the trees.. good work
