Luis, Roby, & Paula,

thanks for visiting and commenting. the bird was cooperative.

funny but later that week i found that New Yorker magazine has published a cartoon with a bird on window and a caption:: "Hello! I am a blue bird of death!" i didn't know about it but seems to resonate.
check it out... "quoth the pidgeon: Nevermore!"

Excellent shot, execution and framing, Naftali. Seems he has to remain there, near the city he doesn't show to like: all other ways barred.

Have no idea as to their lifetime.. don't think it is the same pigeon... here is my image http://www.usefilm.com/image/469037.html Although the dof is shallow, I think that the image works, at least in an humorous way :)

Paul, thanks for commenting.
i wonder if that was the same pidgeon. i don't know anything about theirr habits. are they territorial? how long is their life-span? there was no food there so it seem that that bird was just out for r&r.
tech details: i shot it with apperture priority setting on a very sunny day. so teh speed was probably around 1/800 and the apperture was close to f/7. i shot it in color but gray--scaled it and then quad-toned.

hey :) I have a picture of a pigeon from the top of the empire state building as well...I like how you kept the background in focus as well... my version only had the bird in focus since I did not have a chance to adjust the camera but it works pretty good as well..I was going to say that the frame was too heavy but now that I look at it again, it act as a window.. good work
