About Trying to get some feedback on three images with different types of b/w on them. wanting to create images with crisp clear blacks & whites. And to find out what is more appealing to the eye. Thanks for your tips and suggestions in advance.

Thanks Jessica, this is the one that mom chose. It's a warm medium gray duotone. I would like to see a little more contrast on this one.

Thanks for your comments Bilinia. Actually, this was a mixed lighting situation outside. The subject was in the shade, with the background being very bright sunlight. To have him properly exposes, the background was blown out. So I dodged the bg completely white for a more high key effect. It looked better than the blown out original color bg. Then I did convert it to b/w.

The intense light around his face was from the bg backlighting him, even though the sun was in front of him. That's how bright it was, that even behind him was way too bright! I did the best I could under the lighting conditions I had.

Thanks David. Ironically, this was my least favorite of the three, and the one that mom chose!
Just goes to show it's all subjective to your taste! Thanks for your input!

This one is very sweet and soft. It looks like it has a little bit more of a brown tint in it than the others. Very cute!

oh, what a sweetie. what a cuttie dear Dale!
WOnderful grey scale, and sharpeness, but somehow you did lost some details on his face, meaning the skin seems too soft, without shadows! and I think you have too much white/light on the left!
But still a very good portrait!
I see that you did focus very well on the face and eyes, so all the background is very white! but maybe to white for my feeling, not that is bothering me too much, just a feeling :)
Did you convert this photograph in B&W from a color original, or it is a B&W in original?

Kiss, Biliana

although the tint is nice those tones have the least contrast and feel a little flat compared to the thw others.
