About Dan Lightner Photography
Shot a balloon filled with water with a gun and recorded the explosion , I am trying to capture the water still in the shape of the balloon a millesecond after the balloon is popped.I shot this in the shade and used a reflector to reflect light back into the balloon.

Fantastic shot!!! Using a bullet was a bit over the top though, don't you think? A pin would have disturbed the water much less. Or maybe not??? We will never know.

About 6 months ago I asked if you could photograph a match just at the time it is lit. You said it was too easy, but that you would do it.

This is incredible Dan! I am sure you must have used a remote on this while you fired the gun, what kind of gun? Just curious! This image is so incredibly creative! :)

Hi Dan, very impressive combination of shots, and an outstanding timing. Very creative and professional! Thanks for the explanation, very interesting set up. Just out of curiosity; how many attempts did you need, and who did fire the pellet gun, presuming you pressed the exposure button?

Cheers,

Hugo

Dan, I am continually amazed at your talent. I spent time the other night showing my sister & her husband your portfolio. They were stunned to see your preparation on some shots. You have such a wonderful eye to create some of these masterpieces. Thank you for using UseFilm to its full advantage. You work is greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing more :) dina

This one must have required split second timing, Dan and the result is, accordingly, splendid.
Thank you for your comprehending comment on my "Yellow hibiscus."
Bst regards,
Rafi

David Hofmann   {K:22223} 4/5/2005
cool, looks like a pineapple :)

Maybe a needle from behind would cause less force on the water than a bullet and the shape would remain a little better. Just an idea. How do you time the flash?

elizabeth cain   {K:220} 4/5/2005
wow this is awsome good timing too i think it would look cool at a quiker shutter speed

7++++++++++++++ My dear friend, I thin that if you capture the water in the balloon shape you can capture the bullet too.
?How you make for coordinate both shoots?? the camera and the gun??
