Nice shot! These are fast little buggers. :) Just a nit on your ID; it's not a hawk, but an American Kestrel, which is considered a falcon. And it's a female (the males have slatey wings).
Of course, I could only dream of taking a shot like this, so don't let me dampen your spirits over this awesome catch.

The "tiny little hawk" is lovely, Jim. Wonderful capture. I've yet to take a photo of a bird in flight that is any good.... your exposure is superb.
