About Hmmm, I'm not really sure about this photo so please give me some help. I really like the way he's sitting and the look on his face. I don't like the door or his slide behind the chair. I couldn't get rid of them in PS without it being totally obvious (didn't try an extraction though). I did a focus vignette and converted to b&w. Thoughts? I will post the orginal in color also. Window light, 1/40, f2.5, ISO 50. Suggestions very welcome!!!

Thanks for looking!

Tiffany...when you're using that clone tool on a solid color (like the wall/door), make sure you are using a totally soft, fuzzy brush. Start out cloning at 100% and try to follow any natural shading that's already there, clone light to light, dark to dark. Then go back over it with a reduced opacity to refine your shading. But make sure you use a fairly hard brush up next to him, or just mask him out. Always do it on a new layer, a copy of the original.

I hope that made "some" sense to you, just keep practicing!!...Jan

Thanks Jan! I don't know why the door bothers me so much, it shouldn't because we are in a house lol. Your PS work is great! Everytime I tried to clone out the door it seemed like that corner stuck out like a sore thumb.

Thank you Alex, his face is what made me have to put this one up.

Okay Tiffany...here are my suggestions (for what it's worth) I would eliminate the blur on everything between the farthest leg of the chair and you (the camera). Then I would add the blur on the little piece of door behind his arm. Clone out the door, and if that corner still bothers you, add a dark gradient, but mask him out. Something kinda like this...
