Well, Christine, I have friends who have created a most unlikely house and grounds with a rustic boardwalk that extends into a swamp. Whenever they came across anything interesting in the process, they salvaged it and put it on display--like the lantern and the hook and the bromeliad posted also. Glad you like it. --g

The lantern reminds me of the ones laying around in my granddad's barn. I always loved them, there's something vaguely romanitic about old gas lanterns. Got to wonder about the circumstances that found this one to be abandoned where you found it.

Looks as though it was a well loved lamp and has been left to return to nature after outliving it's useful life. I like the spider webs and the colours and texture of the rust, I'm sure it could tell some very good stories - including the one that got away! Thanks for the genorous comment about my blue tree.
