Hi Michael,
the image is sharp due to a clever downscaling for web JPEG =) In 100%, this is not as sharp as you think. I did some testing with packaging the image to the stomach and it did work.

You must be still as stone to hand-hold a 4 second shot!! I can't seem to hand-hold a 1/60th second and the image to be as sharp as this?
I like the concept and how you placed the old row houses in the foreground and city in the back. Very creative and nice PS work!
My compliments............Mike

hi angelo,
to be honest, I'm not sure how I did that. =)
I only know that I didn't have any tripod or other helpful things at hand...

Handheld 4 seconds? C'mon, you had it against a wall or something... There's NO WAY you get it this sharp over 4 seconds if you're not a statue :)
Nice one, Thilo.
A bit of colour in the sky would have improved it.

Great night shot, with or without concept ;-) And 4 seconds, based upon something ? Really sharp result - but what do you mean with "every trick" against motion blur (?), do you know "Focus Magic" (for saving motion blurred shots) ?

Very nice Thilo, I like this! I've always liked the 'old versus the new' concept. This is so WELL DONE! Love the two color types, everything about this one.
One time when photographing a wedding, (on the way to the reception) I noticed some green rolling hills with huge cows grazing...way in the distance you could see contemporary skyscrapers; it was a wonderful moment not to passed up!
Have a great day, Lori :)

thilo, you should be a surgeon...hands like a rock! as for the photo, i like it quite a bit. the idea behind it is nice, the old vs. the new. i might crop the bottom a bit, as i don't think the grass adds much. i think it'd be nice if it were basically half old, half new, no (or just a little) grass... you know what i mean?

Handheld??? I will say first of all a very steady hand... I should have imagined a tripod if you do not say so... :)
Excellent long term work... Beautiful colors... It is nice to see the contrasts of the great cities... Old vs. new... Technology vs. Hard Work... You just named a lot... It can also be a our ways of living... Modern in most cases means a our de-humanization... Old... It was living more in community and taking care of each other...
So for me, this is a picture that demonstrates two sides of a coin... What was better??? Love the contrast of both types of architecture... and beautiful lights...
Cheers,
MaLuisa

four seconds??? hand held??? wow....looks very sharp considering. I would have never guessed this wasn't on a tripod.
I think the makes an interesting concept, but a disjointed photograph. The contrast is colors is nice though, between the yellow and purple/reds of the background.
