thanks Larry. in my portfolio towards the end there is another version of this photo, which I think actually is more effective. it's a horizontal shot, and the subject and the tree are seperated, and the clouds are exposed better. thanks for the comment.

For me this is a nice shot! Wonderful perspective, although I want to see more clouds, but like you said, it's as it is... so this is a beauty! :)

Stark yes, but I also like the tension created by her presence and how she has placed herself. To think of it, I don't see stark as anything bad or negative, it just is. Sometimes one wants it or wants to be in it.

Thanks for the comment. you may be right on the too stark, it's something i myself have never really decided. sometimes i like it as it is and as i shot it, going for stark angles, perspective, and punchy contrast. other times it seems too much. who knows, but thanks for the comment.
