Alison, Thanks for your thoughtful comments and observations on the photo. Much appreciated. I shot this on the fly as the family rested together after getting up from a nap. I liked the way they were sitting, so I said, "no body move" as I fetched my camera... Cheers!

Unusual, wonderful composition. However, it bothers me she is holding her head instead of the other child...is there a problem? is the thought that comes to mind and it is disturbing. Would like to have seen her entwined with both children. Just my opinion, love the idea behind it.

This is very interesting image. it does shoe intimacy in a strange and spooky way. the fact that little girl on the left missing all the toes and her mother left hand holing her son YET! her right arm insted of holding her daughter she holding her own head like it's gonna fall off! this is really a family puzzle or may i say a human puzzle?? nicly done:) Cheers! ET.

This is obviously a tight knit family! Great capture, wonderful toning with the black background and loose cropping to isolate the subjects. A smile producing image. Well done.

Interesting unusual object! Very nice capture, good lighting (I love the sharp object over deep black background, highly emphazised the object), and a strong message about motherly love, and the nice warmth of it. You can see it from the expression of the little girl on the left.... Very touchy Very nice
Cheers!

Quite simply fantastic! I love the concept. If at all possible, the inclusion of the toes in the lower left corner would perfect it.

Excellent work Samuel! Confident, beautiful work. I think this is definitely your best picture (among the ones I?ve seen of course). A very well directed shot! I love creativity when it flows like this? when it?s not TOO contrived? you negotiated that thin line between what is true and what is maudlin sentiment. Very nicely done? Art is a whore, as a friend of mine, a very good painter, used to say. And this is absolutely true - pictures, paintings, music, films? they all seductive lullabies enticing you on a little ride out of the mundane.
Usefilm?s a virtual, but still very interesting and strangely effective community on several levels? I don?t really know anything about you or any of my ?friends? here, and yet I feel I know a great deal?. perhaps something more quintessentially real about a person is transmitted over the pictures we send, and the words we use, than all the other tricks we use in real life communication. It is ?knowing people? in a completely different way. But quite ?real? nonetheless.
But when I just about have enough, I come across the unpretentious sweetness of a shot like this ?family puzzle?, and it?s so terrific and pure and the charm of the arrangement not artificial, and your loving wife, an artist herself, in so far as she collaborates in so many of your efforts, and the babies? well, it's all pretty cool.
Cheers my friend. (If we lived in the same city I?d take you for beers ) ;-)
