About Returned the 100-400 today inexchange for a 70-200 f2.8 and a 1.4 telextender used here. I like the results much better. This lens is a non IS which I am used to and is an f2.8 so with the telextender i still am at 280 MM F4 which works good. A bit more combinations and seems to be very clean. light was overcast and gray as you can see by the sky.

That is pin sharp Jim and it doesn't look as though the 1.4 converter has detracted in any way.

Looks like it will make a great combination. I have not gotten to use the new lens yet. Have had rain almost every day and very little sun.

Dave my gut is that the Lens developed a problem, When i first got it it was fine, then it seemed like I started hearing a lot of extra noise during focus and lock up. OH no fancy stuff here, just a zoom that takes pictures. thanks for the comments.

Excellent image, superbly sharp and the exposure has not been tricked by the brighter sky. You can even see the staining on the underbelly. Wonderful detail throughout.
Thanks.

Oh nice!
I laid hands on the 20d for the first time today at my local camera store. WOW! I already knew about it's superior imaging, but was FLOORED at how fast and responsive it is. It felt like stepping from a vespa to a Ferrari!

I WILL have a 20d, if I have to mow lawns, shoot weddings or pimp myself!!

(Ok, just kidding about the shooting weddings silliness).
