.........grrr........ I was writing and writing marian for this image and I hit "add" and it didn't come up :((((( In short I was writing about how your sensitive but also down-to-earth-realistic eye captured this appartment block from a great point and despite the fact that your subject is about nature and how it wraps around the "monster", you are showing it in an excellent manner, identical to your deserted neoclasssical building investigation. ...I was also writing about how these buildings - the appartment blocks, neglected due to the fact that they represent the "evil" forces of contractors, real-estate agents and politicians (that used them to aquire money and power and at the same time destroyed the romantic neoclassical aesthetic of Schinkel, Hansen and the rest of the bavarian "gang") need to be resurrected from oblivion; we should not forget that 70% of our population, for the last 40 years have lived and created within these... some of them are actually magnificent... I know it is a huge issue; I think a photo-essay of these "monsters" would be very interesting; This one that you are showing, I think is good example; Ofcourse the fact that your image got me into these thoughts, show how strong this image is; excellent m a r i a n !

you know marian your eye is so sensitive but also down-to-earth realistic with the old buildings, the ones from the neoclassic, ecclectic and deco periods, that here, where you are depicting "nature's embroidery", you are also applying these magnificent qualities to the appartment block; I think we all do that, athenians I mean; We have criticized so harshly the appartment blocks, since contractors, real-estate agents, politicians and the social issue of "building above your head to accomodate your kids and have them close by" managed to demolish jewels of the past in order to have them built, that we forgot that more than 70% of our population, for the last 40 years was brought up in these "cages". Here, although your title refers to how nature succeeds in wrapping around the "monsters", you also show kindness to these, beaten-for-too-long-and-needing-to-be-resurrected-from-oblivion...structures

Dear Marian.. very good idea to shoot such an interesting wall covered with ivy.. if you have time again to go to same place, please try to re-shoot from the garden of the same house with a lower angle from bottom of the wall till the top covering only the plant branches and the wall..
