Well Peter, I'm delighted, it isn't often I can identify anything botanical!! I hope you can get some of these in your garden, they are thugs - they go wherever they want - but are beautiful nonetheless!

Peter, what size flower is it? It looks similar to the aquelegias (spell-checker off!) I get in my garden each spring - small example below. Let me know?
