Ok now I am just getting jealous :) Your portfolio has a lot of shots that I have tried and failed at. THis is a wonderful moon shot. Very crisp and pretty.
taras, yep, used a tripod, used the two x converter and know that it stops it down 2 stops, also it wont auto focus on the cam, i have to manually focus it, so maybe i had the ring a bit off, all in all i feel the focus of the image is ok, i know it could be better, but i could also have a mirrored telescope lens and then i would get the results taht i really was shooting for.... as for this night, i didnt do mirror lock on this image, just took like 5 images and got back in the house due to the cold, and really wanted to see what the 2x converter and 70 to 300mm lens could do, mirror lock was tested a couple days ago on the full moon and works nicely, and will be tested again tomorrow on the full moon setting behind longs peak and the mountains that are known as the flatirons.... during sunrise, thanks for your sugestions, much apriciated.
If you didn't use a tripod, I suggest that you do. Also, remember that the 2x converter adds two stops to the exposure, the equivalent of stopping down two stops. It's hard to tell if your focus is accurate, because you could have camera shake. If it is possible to lock up or pre-fire the mirror, that helps reduce camera shake.
it was about 30 minutes ago and here in colorado it was taken at about 9:45 PM.. the setting was to spot metering and it would still blow out the moon, but i basically stopped it up till i found a happy medium. 1/60 at F5.6, ISO 100. im very happy with the 20D so far, she doesnt have a name yet though he he he, ill check out your portfolio, thanks for the wonderful comment

OHHH and about the photo too..... It's perfect i don't think you could improve it..... brilliant....i'll have to get myself one of those converters..... kel p.s what time of the night was this? and what setting did you have it on? i hate reading manuals.....!
Good moon capture, always tough due to need for a lot of power, but 600mm used well here.
