About	This homeless person was playing guitar just outside of Granville island, in vancouver. I watched him for a minute or two and when people gave him money he would look up, but he would never open his eys, or look directly at anyone. I thought it was intriguing and, well, got this photo.

I enjoy the compostion and feeling of this image. There is a definate content, but I think the exposure takes away from it. You talk of the closed eyes, but the values and tones in the face are quite dark, making it difficult to notice some of these things. Dodging out the face a little or bringing out some higlights could really bring out these effects more.
