Nice narrative, good visual analogies and symbolism.
As for the softness, I don't really thing sharpness would have detracted.

Perfect moment and composition The light is beautiful, also the colours and reflections. One can imagine the immigrants when they entered this place and had to choose their way to go.... Great work !! Jan

Beautifully seen. It's the "not quite symetrical" aspect that breathes energy into this one for me. And the rangers keeping watch over the two sides, one cool, one warm. cheers, erik

Another one. The first thought was - "the ghosts of immigration". Love it.

Shadow and dreamland! This is a masterpeice in my point of view. Just amazing. Very nice composition, such a simplicity that in the same time is not simple. In the middle of a choice, which way to choose!!! Different colours and light but the same kind of bricks, at the left and to the right. Yes - a favorite, goes there...and also 7+++

Hi John,
thanks for your feedback. I'm very interested in your Photoshop theory, as I didn't do anything mentionable to the original image =)

Thilo, I like this one very much. The combinations of texture, lighting and lines are subtle but brilliant. The personal touch with the shadows is a nice touch too. When I look at it more my mind starts to interpret all kinds of allegorical undertones, but this probably was not your immediate intention! Regards, omar

Hi Thilo! What you have done here, in an amazing way, is captured how wonderfully light, and reflection impact the ability to see color and texture. This is three classic scenerios....the "straight into your eye, bright reflection" on the left, which steals the color, but not the texture.....the "reflection/shadowplay" in the center, where the blunt angle provides a nice template for the sunlight to be "cast" onto it.....and the "filtered reflection", where there is not enough light to pull the texture out of the floor, but still enough to preserve, or even enhance the warm colors of the floor tiles.. This is an awesome catch, just what we expect of you, my friend! ..Brad

An ordinary scene but - even without a concept - an interesting image :-) The shadows and the remarkable colours grabbed my attention for more than just a moment. A photo which leaves something to the imagination...
