About	My son drinking water after a long game of chase! I was playing with the macro trying to get a good eye shot since he was sitting still, lol! Natural light, converted to b&w on new layer and erased eyes to get original color. Suggestions very welcome! Thanks for looking!

Bringing back color into a B&W image is a very powerful way to put emphasis on something. I think it works good on this photo.

If you have strong colors and bring them back into the B&W image the contrast (between color and B&W) will make the colors look way over oversaturated and the whole effect is overdone. I can highly recommend the movie "Pleasentville". A story about a B&W world that slowly changes to color. I talked to one of the effects supervisors and he said they had to bring down the satuation a lot whenever they had color come through in the B&W world as it looked way too much when they just brought back the original color. It is a wonderful movie and worth watching in any case.
