Justin took the words right out of my mouth It is imperative to do everything in PS then convert..I am not sure about the blur tool that someone elese mentioned as again this sometimes looks like a cover up..n e way I am no expert either but go on n enjoy the ride Oh and PS leave the wings for yourself my dear and let the dogs remain grounded for fear they may descend into kitsch sorry opinion creeeping in!! ;-D

ok, I won't rave on about it because it is a critique site, but essentially, JPEG compression is what happens when you save, and resave, and resave (constantly) a jpeg file. PSD (Photoshop Document) and TIFF files do not compress the image whatsoever which is why they are generally quite large. The best way to reduce this is to save all your work as PSD or TIFF files and then create a copy of that file which you compress to JPEG format only once. Just another step in creating higher quality digital images, though as i said, it is difficult to improve on such beauty.

Thanks Justin =)

It's not my first time using photoshop, but "photoshop brushes"...and I'm not 100% sure what JPEG compression is? I mean, I would suppose it downsizing the file, and the image in result becomes pixelated?

And no, it's not your imagination, those are wings... =)~ So yes, my coarse back is intentional...I orignally downloaded the wing brush to use for a friend who wanted me to make her doggies look like angels, and figured I'd test em out on me first...
Here is the orignal image:

Roger, the weirdness in the back, is indeed my "brush wings"..ha ha that sounds corny...Thinking maybe I should add another layer so it fades out evenly in that area?

A beautiful photograph of a stunning woman with eternal eyes - who else could create such a wonderous piece of work but you? First I think I must congradulate you on your first attempt with photoshop tools. If this really is your first piece, you are well on your way to a wonderful place.

As I am sure you are aware, using programs like photoshop are going to improve your photography, whether you edit the raw images or not, but with that said - it is difficult to improve on images like this, and the others in your portfolio.

I do have to agree with Aldin and Roger though; It may be simply because ou are unaware of the best way to compress image files, or maybe just a bad original, but I can see a lot of the 'tell-tale' signs of over compression. And as Roger said - the area around your upper back looks unnaturally coarse - just two secdons in PS (blur/heal tools)will fix this. Now no one has mentioned it, but it seems intentional to me - it looks as if you have given yourself a pair of modest little wings, and I really like the effect, and if it was not intentional - please forgive my imagination.

I love this shot, I really don't think I need to comment on the beauty and grace of the model, and the encapsulating look in her eyes, so with that, I shall await your next amazing image with anticipation.

Well done,
- Justin

Very clever composition, Dawn - not least because of your expression.

Exquisite, Dawn.
You've got an eye for composition, and I like looking into YOUR eyes. ;)

Really beautiful.
