About This is another perspective on a previous photograph. (Southern Cross)
I discovered a better way to convert to b&w from colour than to just remove colour. It works well on my monitor, but I don't know it will translate on-line. Comments or critique anyone?

I think this would be nice on anyone's monitor!
Love this photo, perfect in my opinion.

Very well done, good conversion!'
Lori :)

Hello Alastair,
Perhaps I wasn't very clear in my description. It isn't the same photograph (southern cross) but another shot of the same subject a few seconds later. I like your re-working of the photo, the colour makes it warmer. Thanks for your input.

Hello Peter,
Thanks for your comments on Summertime Dream. Sometimes when you work on a photo for a long time you lose some of the spontaneousness of it.
Now that I've been away for a few hours, I can see that it is better than I thought.

Lovely image (although I think I prefer the original?. I also think that for a 'Summertime' shot a little colour helps a lot as B&W can make it seem a bit cold and clinical. I've recoloured it a bit (hope you don't mind the rough treatment of the shot but it was done in about 10 minutes)... Beautiful seascape though!

I think your conversion worked well, first of all the look of the sky is great and detailed .. the sea has great variation in tones .. no, to me you got it right here !
Peter
