Turned off all the lights, and was going to take a normal shot, and the camera was out of focus and I thought of Jenni Alasuutari, and her snowball shot, Thought I would try it with light, and played with the focus untill I got this, and hoped alot.

Very creative. You might also want to try a double exposure if your camera allows you to do that. You can take one picture like this and then one in focus picture on the same frame.
