About Looking back towards our hotel on my pre-breakfast, (and what a breakfast!) walk!

Everything was so quiet and peaceful! So much so, I wrote a little poem sat in a Cotswold tea-room?

'In the Cotswolds'

We?re in the Cotswolds, land of mellow golden stone
To still our minds and live less breakneck for a while.
A hundred miles between us and the ?Mac? and phone
Means time together in less hurried style.

Dinner is savoured now there?s time to pause and taste
The three well-flavoured courses brought by ?she who waits?.
How good, for once, to have a second we can waste
And leave the room without the dirty plates!

Walking arm-in-arm beside the quiet ambling stream
Midst sounds of nothing but the mill leat and the birds.
There?s time to stop and look and, yes, to dream ~
And things are said without the need for words.

Call me an 'old romantic', if you like!! (But not so much of the 'old'!)

Best regards to all,

Chris

Lovely feel to this image - I can feel the still before everyone else wakes up and starts making a racket. It's a very special time of day and I can see why it prompted the poem.

Beautiful capture Chris, what a gorgeous area - I will refrain from calling you an old Romantic. So no Terry Wogan comparisons from me this time around ;-)

Lovely poem as well :-)

Best wishes,
Steve
