About Another one from Kirkstall, this is the little railway for the kids and people who shop at morrisons but can't afford a car!

Very dark when this was taken so was a 20 second exposure at F16, ISO 400. Pretty dark eh.

The colours were supber autumn golds and reds, but tried the mono look and preferred it.

Used a dodge and burn layer to give the diagonal a bit of light and the bushes at the top more darkness - just giving it a bit more compositional depth.

Leeds tomorrow for another little trip out. Well that's if anyone can actually make it this week - Hopefully Stephen Bowden will make it in time or else I'll be legless in Whitelocks waiting!

Open invite anyway.

Cheers

Ade

I agree entirely Dave, you spotted exactly what I did.

The colours are superb but there's no real contrast - so if in doubt, try it B&W.

Cheers

Ten times better picture in b&w ... great shot. Looking at it without reading the 'about' I had the feeling of stumbling across a lonely stretch of some long-forgotten narrow-gauge line rusting quietly in the forest... much more romantic than the actual fact, I fear.

I like the b/w in this one, Ade! It seems to have a real "sparkle" to it. I think in the colour version the tracks get lost in the similar colours of the railbed and you lose them a bit.

Cheers dave

here's the original shot from the cam - out of interest, do you reckon the mono was a good idea or maybe do another one in colour?

Cheers
