About St. Andrews Church on the Red, it's the oldest stone church in western Canada. Situated on the banks of the Red River just north of Winnipeg, it's still in use today. There are many tales of ghosts in the churchyard, and while there are signs posted of it being closed at night, it is an area teenage rite of passage to spend the night in the graveyard.

Well done image. The tonal range is excellent as it goes from pure white to pure black. The contrast is great and the detail in the forground headstones is beautiful. Well done.

Great presentation Dave. The low angle of view and the black and white are perfect for this picture. I prefer it to the color.

hey this is a great B/W Dave,
i'm sure its been flooded a few times over the years as well. the ghosts would be treading water in that case.
making this a B/W really gives a powerful feel. good choice

Dave, great shot. Perspective is a 10+. Sharpness and light excellent. The B/W effect combined with the bare trees add to the "spookiness" of the church's history. Interesting headstones. Congrats. Art.

Good composition in this photo and B&W suits the sombre atmosphere of the graveyard, Dave.
Thank you for your encouraging coment on my "Bottles behind bars". I had misgivings about posting it, but it seems it works.
Best regards,

The view, the perspective with headstones in the foreground is really nice. It doesn't look too scary (in the daytime).

Very neat shot, Dave. I love the old headstones in the foreground. I like the B&W version for this shot too. I have a cemetary at the end of my street and have been thinking of going in there for quiet shoot.

Great shot Dave and a great story as well. Is this north of the beltline that goes around Winnipeg ? I have been out there close to it I am sure. Nicely seen and I really like your composition.
