About since last night there has been a BIG storm raging. My power has been out since last night as well. So this afternoon I donned my waterproof gear to take some photos in the stinging rain. The wind is 40 knots plus, with the ocean frothing white. I wrapped my Nikon D70 in Saran wrap with just the end of the lens exposed.... a custom Nikon raincoat for under 1 dollar. Saran wrap is clear so I could still see through the viewfinder and also the LCD monitor on the back. Worked like a charm. I left the lens @ wide-angle to maximize the possibilities.

Hi Tim, I'm well aware the changing weather creates the darker tones, but that is still nice for a change. (even though it might well be a prolonged change...;o) The gull in the background, the soaking wet lawn furniture and the stormy weather create an excellent atmosphere, and make for a beautiful shot. Creative handling / wrapping of the camera. Have to keep that in mind!

Cheers,

Hugo

Good work here, I like the POV which I assume is your yard. WOW could I sleep there listening to the waves. OF course sometimes they are too loud .

Hi Dubravko,

Yes i got lucky with the bird. It was so windy that it was amazing i got anything with the low light and slow shutter speed

Really great colours and dark feeling, and the furniture and the bird are nice touches. The furniture somehow emphasises the wildness of the weather :)
