*The 1st bridge ever built to cross the Red River
*Designed and built by the man who devised the plans for the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
*At time of construction, it was one of the longest steel-girder bridges in the world, with a length of almost 2.3 kilometers.
*Ground breaking: 09-12-1898
*Crossing by King Thanh-Thai on 02-28-1902 by train.
*1st attack by US on 08-11-1967, repeated on 08-12-67
*Hanoi brought US airmen prisoners to repair bridge damage, in order to prevent further US attack.
