A pleasure to the eye! This is a great abstract piece of art you have created here, Emgy. It really gets my imagination going. It reminds me of a colourful sunset over my favourite beach. I can almost hear the waves and the seagulls, and smell the sea air. We seem to be of a similar vien when it comes to our photography, especially the abstract side of things. Well done.

Ps. Ty for your positive comments.

Have a wicked day!

I tried. Cropped out as you said but at the time, I didn't like it cropped. Not too bad as a square image though.
Thanks again for your suggestion. I always appreciate hearing oppinions and ideas.

This one really reminds me of a desert landscape. As a matter of fact if you were to crop it off before the white band you could call it a desert landscape. Give it a shot.

Georgeous abstract, Emgy! I like the variety of colour and texture. The horizontal lines are restful with some interest thrown in where the patterns deviate at an angle.

Visually stimulating abstract which I've been enjoying for several minutes now and letting my imagination roam...I likke the black shapes in the fore ground, they remind me of seals that have flopped down on a wall overlooking a beach.
Great Work,regards,tony.

Hi Emgy, good that you commented on my recent post.(Thanks for your friendly words) I do not know why I did not come to your portfolio for quite a while. Probably so many friends here to interact with. But here I am and find so many stunning pics it is just flabberghasting. This one I liked a lot, first sight, because it is like a beautiful, abstract landscape. To be able to paint like this would be my great dream. Here many artists not knowing of their gift created a wonderful piece of communal art but I acknowledge also it takes a great artists eye to see it and render it so beautifully as you did. 7+ and goes to my favorites and you on my friends list. Hope you read this: fifty comments already, I am envious but I also have to admit it is well deserved. Best regards and a happy New Year in advance, though I am sure I will comment more to yours before this one ends. Jorg

It takes a true artist to find beauty in the mundane objects that others walk by. Thank you for sharing your vision of what others miss. This is a landscape of paint and rust that equals the beuaty of wind swept shores at sunrise. Your eye for detail is meticulous and your rendering amazing. What more can I say but SUPERB!!

Cheers and best regards - Bill

Hi Emgy! How creative you are, it's beautiful! I love the way you have gone so close, and with this composition of colours you have made a story in your photo. For me it's an ocean of colours, and the black things in foreground are little boats with rowing people.

Hoi Emgy

Thanks for your comment and suggestions, Rob. Very appreciated!
At the time of the shooting I was too excited at the sight of all the colours and patterns in front of my eyes and the only thing is thought was just "shooting" as many images I thought nice. I didn't think of taking this shot diagolally. As for the use of layers, I can only tell you that my intention for this series of natural abstracts was a presentation with absolutely no post-processing. Of course, you're right, there is a lot that can be done with an image like this. I've been playing with other shots of the same subject taken on the same spot so you may see the result in a later time.

So you found your Eldorado, hé. Very nice abstract you made out if this rusty chimney. Have you considered to compose the lines diagonally and maybe use some layers to enhance te different colorzones and others deplete? It can make very interesting abstracts about which Andy Warhol can only dream about. Groetjes Rob.

Fabulous abstract Emgy. To me it looks like an upside down boat with the water at the top, the weathered boat and the old torn sail.

Yes Hugo, you were pretty close and I think it's amazing. I wouldn't have thought of an old fishing boat seing this shot taken by someone else. I agree, that's indeed not the key element here. The combination of colours and pattern is what I found most intriguing.
Thank you so much for you elaborate and great comment.

This is a good one, Emgy! Especially because the colors have such luminescence and transparency from the white
underpainting. And your construction of the image is as strong as most of your other work. You really are unmatched when it comes to this type of image.

Hugs,
john

Amazing capture Emgy, I love the textures and colours. This makes a wonderful natural abstract :-)

Very well seen and great to see the bigger picture from where it came from - who would have thought this :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Hi Emgy, this photo takes some time to fully assess. The dimension in it, created by the rim is a very strong element; maybe even a bit too strong, as it invites the viewer to wonder about what it actually is (an old fishing boat was my initial idea, before I scrolled down and saw the photo you attached, wasn't that far off, though). That is, I think, not the key element here. The combination of colours, with the random patterns of paint should be the main theme, IMO, without such references to it's "real life function". Nonetheless, I find this one very appealing; not only because of the patterns, but also because of the crisp tones and the colour depth. Also, the division in (roughly) three layers is rather effective. Again, with that division in mind, the rim could be perceived as a distraction.... Then again, it's there, and adds some nice tones and shapes to the photo, making it differ from a painting; I guess it all comes down to how you (the viewer) likes to perceive such a piece of craftmenship. In retrospect to the scene you attached in the photo, I think the rim does add to it; Very intriguing, again...;)

Cheers,

Hugo

I'm adding the photo of the spot where I took the shot. Particularly the bottom of the metal construction was painted in the most amazing colours. I had never seen so much rust and pealing paint before on one and the same subject. To me, it was fascinating.
