About Lyle, Robin and I are returning from our adventure to Jedediah Island on the "Seaquester". During our crossing to safe harbour a massive storm was building and we were hoping to be on firm ground as soon as possible. I am attempting to hold firm on the pulpit while standing right on the edge of the bow shooting several photos. I was shooting @ 1600 ISO to increase the grain and hopefully achieve a feeling of drama at the same time.

Hi tim, cool shot...like the angled horizon, really makes you feel the motion of the boat, and the grain and B&W tones wrok well -

Hi Tim
Nice to see the move away from full color and its comforting to see that the weather is not always lovely and sunny...thought you were living in paradise for a minute...!?

I was wondering what the shot looks like if you had either the mast at vertical or the horizon at horizontal? To me it seems a bit neither here nor there. I haven't played with the image yet so the way you have it may be the best angle.

Keep going

Manu

There is drama ! The off canted horizon is the first clue. B&W is good for this shot. The boat is old and the B&W helps date it for me. Good work.
Glad you made it...

Excellent bw image. It shows just how rough the waters were with the storm approaching. Great capture!

Hi Tim, Awesome atmosphere, and a very cool shot. Although I normally would comment on the tilted horizon, it does serve a very functional purpose here, as it emphasise the tension of the moment. The same basically applies to the tonal range, eventhough it's a bit limited, it does fit with the ominous and threatening atmosphere. Nice to see how the pieces fit together...

Cheers,

Hugo

Great shot Tim!
The mast leaning left the horizon leaning right gives this photo an awesome felling of being on the open waters!
Very dramatic scene !
Very well done!

Woow, I hope you did not catch the storm, very dramatic weather, this is an action shot, great arrangement, I like the tilted horizon here it fit perfectly with the boat inclination, superb work, Saeed

I like the drama in this one Tim. The slope of the horizon adds more tension. Works well in monochrome. Regards John
