This day I crossed from Castilla Y Leon (on my bicycle). There are three parallel chains of mountains perpendicular along the border between the two counties, I was following the edge of one with magnificent views of the valley between mine and the next. The advantage of cycling is that you can stop wherever you want to take a photo, waiting for the perfect moment. I hope you like this. I've done a bit of dodging and burning to darken the sky and lighten the foreground, and cropped a bit to the left. I realised after seeing more landscape photographers that I should have been using my ND grad filter MUCH MUCH more during this trip! As it is, this is polarized.
Hi, thanks for your comment. you are right, it is still somewhat too dark...and I would agree with you about the curved horizon, except that I don't think it's the horizon that is curved but the hill in front of it. Nevertheless it's not clear and therefore detracts, I guess. Recently I've been finding that landscape photography is much more difficult than I previously thought. Many of my photos of Spanish countryside are not great, I should have used the ND grad filter I was carrying much more often. Thanks
Ahhh Spain. I haven't seen it since I was a child and we drove from Germany to Spain. I love the scenery there... I think it's the most beautiful place on earth. Lovely photo. The contrast even reaches the clouds. Very nice
