From the look of the scars, I would guess that this guy tangled with a predator in early spring and had some injury to the top of his skull. Interesting and unique photo. Well done.

Beautiful capture. He does indeed have an unusual rack. It turns downward.. I wonder why? Great shot, good details, especially for shooting in a bright light, as I assume you did here.
