About A new portrait of Martin. Tried something different here (same with the one with Magnus). Flash was used (directed back/side). Minimal light from the top and from the side also. Rest of the work has been done in PS.

Comments are always welcome! =))

Cheers

Now Patrick where do you find these models. I would love to be able to do a photo shoot with you. I see so many angles in your images that I would love to try. Finding good models over here is difficult.

Thanking you also for commenting on my work.

Hello Biliana! It was supposed to look like that.. it was a try to get a Pop-Style High-Key.. High Contrast Portrait.. =) The ear got abit to much light though.. check further down and you will see another version. It was an experiment!

I have looked at the sites now! That photo of RA was nice.. i hadnt seen that one from him! =) If i had lowered the high key style and cropped it abit more "open" it would have been close to his style.. =) Thanks for noticing this!

I commented on your friends photo here on UF.. i had missed that one.. was very beutiful image! =)

Take care my friend!! =)

Thanks Patrick
It was my thought about it,just asuming that ,but different idea different opinion,it doesn not mean it is bad,and I mentioned RETOUCH for next future images images if you agree, but not REDO :) regards Saeed

Patrick Jacobson   {K:29151} 10/26/2004
Hi Saeed and thanks for your comment and analyze! Yes it become to bright on some parts.. not a problem to redo i think though. Might be hard to get a even light over his face though.. might look weird if some parts are much lower light on.. I will try and see what happends! =)

Thanks!

Very classic pose, lovely expression, I like the dark background it gives more appearance and elegant look, the only consider is (to me) a bit high cast light in some places, may be a little retouch with edited tool worth it,Saeed

mmmmm.. thats different.. i like the way u used light in here Patrick.. very well done.. i also like his little beard.. its breaking the white area at the face in a very simple way..
although i feel its a little bit over expoced but on the other hand i feel thats working very goood to concentrate on his eye look..
great work..
best regards

Hi Patrick, this one works much better than the previous one. Looking at this photo, I am becoming more and more convinced that it's the lack of details in the dark parts that made me not really like the previous one. Next step would be to create a tad more details and texture in Martin's face...;o) Well done, though, good PS job, and a much better balanced composition.

Cheers,

Hugo

The portrait itself is really nice!!! Those beautifull eyes!!!!!
I like burned face this way, but the ear is too white. I try to close my eyes and opening them expect that his beautifull eyes will get my attention immideatly, but win the ear :(
It?s good to see, that using black background you was yble to "save" his hark hair, there are enough details.
You?ve got expressive model :) Looking forward for other portraits.

R.

the look and expression is super here, but personally I don't like the overexposed white places for a portrait, this is too much contrast for my taste.....
He is a very photogenic model.

best regards,Pia

Whos this good looking guy!
Martin the same model u've been taking pics of before?!
I really like this image more hes relaxed and at ease with the camera :)
I like his beard that?s how I always ask my fiancé to keep it! ;) it gives an intimate morning look feeling
Ok now the technical stuff?hehehe? love the tonal separation between the dark background t shirt and his glowing face did use diffuse glow or just high contrast?
The almost central composition works ok here because of he head tilt which diverts attention away from the over exposed left ear!
I only noticed it later on!
Good image Patrick :)
