Hi Rebecca Like the colors and the cows but have you cropped too much? I can only see half a bush at the top of the shot.
Cheers
Manu

I'm not sure about the sky Rebecca but the gleaming silver barn roof and deep lush gorgeous grass and shrub colours are truly magnificent. The cow is a wonderful addition.

I take everyone's critique to heart. You were right about the sky. I decided to pull that one and crop. Now I'm also considering other work and pulling this one too! lol.. Not because I'm mad, because I want it to be better! That's why I'm here. And people like yourself, that offer constructive critisism, is what it's all about! Thanks:)

Well, I hope my 'critique' wasn't the cause of your pulling the first image! :( I didn't get a chanced to see any of the other comments, but I'm sorry if that's the case. This one looks very nice!

Very good composition, Rebecca! Sometimes we just have to do the best with what we've got when the shot happens! Colours otherwise are excellent. Dave.

Thanks Teresa. I'm probably going to end up pulling this one and trying to do something about that dastardly sky! lol.. I loved the ways those cows popped out. That's what caught my attention.. and the lighting. Thanks so much for stopping to comment. I'll check out some of yours in a few after all this microsoft updates gets through loading!!!!

I didn't see the first shot, but I love this one. I really enjoy the country scenes, and this one is a beauty. The cows add a lot of interest for me. Nice work.

Yes, it's better! Something in between might be better yet, so you don't cut off the tops of the trees. Matter of taste, I guess. The barn is awfully close to the edge on the right now, too. But the red soil looks great!

I usually leave mine on auto, Neal. It would have made the sky a little more colorful I think.

I guess I like this one better. But, since we're supposed to learn from each other, tell me this if you would please. Except for removing reflections from shiny surfaces, I've never found that a polarizer would do anything that I couldn't do in Photoshop just as well. How do you make it work? Do you turn off the auto white balance?

From the poor oldE eyes of an Illinois farm boy, Maybe if you cropped out the entire sky. Leaving that wee slice is a bit distracting. Other than that... well, you and red barns, me and country shots. I have nowt to complain about.
