About Well, today I've gone from the tall ship's sails to this little lone boat.
But still sails!

This boat has just passed under/or is about to pass under the Coronado Bay Bridge.

Hope you enjoy!!

L :)

ps...now that I've seen it uploaded, I think it probably could have that gray part of the frame a bit smaller, I'm NOT going to do it over!! :) LOL

Wonderful composition here Lori. I agree with the gray not so much about the too much, more about the color. For my taste it is too neutral. Thanks for your many comments to my pics. I appreciate your interest! regards Jorg

Bridges are fascinating structures, especially over a period of time. Ours is a real special one, probably because it is relatively new and has that graceful curve.

Wow ... how did you do that? thank you for sharing your knowledge. The only thing I do know in a photo world ... The difference between an "f" stop and a "bus stop" .... :) Sooo I am always learning. love S.Diego. especially "La Jolla" I lived in Moterey for 4 yrs. I would love to learn not to be "noisy" ... :)

Hi Don,
I just now saw the image you worked with, yes the frame is MUCH BETTER the way you did it. Thanks!!

I rarely go back to the site, just read the comments unless someone tells me they posted something there....so I was surprised and pleased to see this! Guess I should check once in a while.

Have a GR8 day!
Lori :)

Brilliant landscape composition - the thumbnail jumped out of the page and at full size it looks even better. You captured the boat at exactly the right monent to balance the picture.

Although the muted colours work well they do give it a somewhat sombre look and I wondered if bringing out the range of colours already in the shot would be an interesting alternative treatment - I hope you don't mind. Best wishes, Jonathan

The scope and sweep of the bridge contrasted to the sailboat is very effective. It's good to be back!

Nice.... Very nice....!

Maybe a bit dark, but the backlighting works well, as does the combination of the curves in the bridge, strong rigid structure, a metaphore for the technology, and the calmly cruising sailing boat, adding to the tranquility of the evening.

I think the grey strip works well, but then again, who am I to critique frames...;o) I would consider converting this photo to B&W, in which case the frame would be very fitting...

Cheers,

Hugo

Hello my friend Lori!

Of the recent photos, this is one of prettiest than I found. I loved the curves of the bridge and the boat. This was a happy combination.

Changing subject... I commented that monument that I left to make in my photo published in these days! Thanks for the alert one!

Hi Don,
Thanks for the comment, didn't know that the stroke could be done in the middle. I thought it was just the edge. I'll give that a try! (I learn something new every day in PS>)
Lori :)

Don Loseke Don Loseke   {K:32503} 10/8/2004
Beautiful Lori, so well composed and the light on the sails is very nice. A quick way to fix the gray border would be to stroke in a thin black line in the middle of the gray. It would break up the gray and be very pleasing. Don.

I think it was the composition that drew me to this image. I always leave my images open in PSP until after I upload, that way if I need to change them for something, I just use the control Z to undo and then redo, actually the frame doesn't take anything away, so I would have left it to! An excellent composition here! :)

As usual.... a very well composed picture, my friend, beautiful silver tones. The boat seems so fragile compared to the bridge, adding some tension to scene.
I?m leaving tomorrow in a short vacation trip..I?ll be back next week.

Hey Jim, thanks (and your welcome, your wife is cute!)

I bet you're thinking of 'The Hotel Del Coronado' we just call it hotel Del, I've been meaning to get some good photographs of it. I've done a lot of weddings there, but I'd rather have one without a wedding party posed out on the rocks.

I will do that soon, yes, it's a real neat place!!
Lori ;)
