About On Highway 16A out of Custer to Mount Rushmore, you are treated to some wonderful scenery. This photo is a crop out of a larger shot. I shot it through a tunnel on highway 16A. Please see the full version of the photo below in the comments. South Dakota, though thought to be a flat Praire, holds some wonderful vacation spots and a lot of great people who live there. I am glad they are next door to me and only a days drive away.

Very nice, i like how the trees suround the image, giving a border feeling.
I have never been to South Dakota "one day"

Nice perspective, Jim! A little different shot than most we see of this monument.

Just so you know on this shot the lighting is natural, it was partly cloudy and the light was hit and miss. There is a great light show at night but i would never wait in one spot that long to get rained on ;)

Hi Jim,
I've not visited this place before. One of these days I want to see this myself. Very nice, the lighting really shows the features well.
I like the one below also!

Jim, I'm glad you posted both versions. They're both impressive but I think I prefer the comment image. Having said that I would have wanted to see it in more detail. Thanks for giving me the best of both worlds.

Chris
My main objective in my photography is to present my POV. that way you can shot all subjects everyone else does, but hopefully you can present them in a different way so as to establish your self. Well thats what I am trying for anyway ;-)

I've seen many photo's of Mt. Rushmore, Jim, but never this view. I like the way the trees frame the sculptures.
Best regards, Chris
