This is a beautiful shot Jorg. Really captures the texture and subtle colors in this ageing yet still wonderful blossom. I think that if you use a border highlight, it should be more subtle than the most prominate colors of the subject(IMO), maybe just a few shades darker than you have chosen.

This floral is so wonderfully lit - was it in partial shade? It's soft, but it really makes the flower stand out from the background, creating a nice depth to the photo. I like your unique subject. I'm quite guilty of trying to find the perfect flower, when I should be looking for beauty in imperfection like you have here. Plus, a dying flower makes the capture a bit more thought-provoking and metaphorical. The twisting petals are an interesting element and I like how the focus is not at the center of the flower, but on the strongest and most dynamically lit petal. Nice capture!
