Dear Mr. Lee, I don't have a Ph.D. but an M.D. and I see no reason to hide that fact in my first communications. It might simply be a habit and as I told you, on following communications I use my nickname, Rafi. Please let me know how you want me to address you. Best regards, Rafi

Why do you feel you need people to know you have a Phd?

Dear Mr. Lee, thanks for the clarification and for your kind words about my porfolio. I only put Dr. in front of my name when I first meet a person for the first time. Later I switch to Rafi and hope that the person with whom I communicate agrees that I adress him by his first name also. In your case it would be James. Best regards, Rafi

Thanks Rafael. I am a New Zealander living in England. Have looked over your portfolio and it looks very experimental and interesting. Quite fresh to see such varied work. I wonder why you feel it necessary to introduce your career into everything - even the fact that you put Dr before your name is a bit odd. Your photos don't need this as they clearly speak for themselves.

This seems to be our first meeting on the pages of "Usefilm", Mr. Lee. Your e mail address tells me that you reside in the UK, a country I have very fond memories of and which constituted a decisive turning point for my career as a psychoanalyst. This is hinted at in my bio, especially if you open the link www.drspringmann.com I looked at your whole portfolio and use your "Saltaire Clown" to comment on all its wonderful photos. I have already invited you to read my bio, now I would like to invite you to pay futher visits to my portfolio too. Thank you for your comment on my "Queen of hearts". Your critique has been noted and will be implemented if and when an appropriate oppotunity arises. Best regards, Dr. Rafael (Rafi) Springmann

James, you have a very unique eye. I love this pic...it's the type of pic I would get a print of and hang up in my bedroom.
