Reminds me of some of the wonderful early morning mists to be found in the New Forest in the south of England, where wild ponies roam.

There is something that is so calming in that light and with that subject.

Superb, I like the golden colour of the sunlight on the background and outlining the horses and also the dark side of the horses is the one we see. Excellent composition of the picture and exposure of course, it's not a matter of what you capture, it's a matter of how you capture it. Bravo Dave.

Excelently taken against the sunlight, my friend Dave. The color of the backgound is still (or already) subdued, but the contours of the horses are accentuated. The whole composition, enhanced by the elongated sqaure you posted your "Early breakfast" in, makes for a serene atmosphere.
Thank you for your comprehensive comment on my
"Urginea maritima in bloom"
Regards,
Rafi

Wonderful golden light Dave, you certainly made the right decision.
Unfortunately, I'm in a car pool and the passengers would get cheesed off pretty quickly if I kept stopping after a 13 hour night shift lol

No sense of humo(u)r these none photographers lol

Super photo !

Best wishes,
Steve

Linn, thanks for your comment! Actually, you're not seeing much of the sky, it's just that it blends in with the surrounding white on the page. The image itself is cropped right at the tree line. It would have been better if I'd put a frame around it to make this obvious. That's what happens when you do these things too late at night!

All you out there who don't rate the S5000 have now been proven wrong! Lovely pic Dave. I knew the 5000 could do itself justice in the end!

Morning Dave
I like the misty morning feel to this image, and how the horses are backlit by the rising sun. Very peaceful image.
However, would like to see less of the hot sky.
Great moment, you lucky thing! :-)
