first, thanks a ton for ur honest feedback and the recommendations. I think you are absolutely right. Cropping the picture horizontally the way you have shown does improve the picture, make it appear tighter and better composed. About the colors, i will also upload the B&W version of the same...and i do think it looks more moody than the color version. Anyway, your comments are really appreciated, and wld be glad if u continue to do the same....Thanks Again!!
Hi Shashi, this is a potentially very powerful location....the upright vertical tree trunks against the background horizon is a great contrast, and could really be used to create a magnificant image.
To me the strength of this image is the vertical trunks, and so I would concentrate the image on them, either by composing the shot differently on location, or cropping afterward in PS. Also, a strong horizontal crop might work nicely w/ this scene.
The color contrast between the blue sky and water and the green trees to the immediate left is another distraction from the powerful broken tree trunks, so B&W might be a consideration too.
Sorry to go on and on, but this spot has great potential and could really shine as a fantastic image.
To give you an idea of what popped into my head as soon as I saw this:
