I like it. It's good to be able to experiment with different processes and be creative and it's all a learning curve. Well done. Greg

Thanks for your reply. Just to make myself clear, I do appreciate the experiment. Alot, that's a vital element in learning, and that's what UF is for.... That's what I meant to say in the last alinea.... I do that all the time...;o)
Cheers,
Hugo

I understand your point of view Hugo ! Still i like to experiment as i do not own canvas nor real oil- or waterpaint, because i know i will never be able to create something out of nothing (fill the blank sheet).
It is more my admiration for watercolour paintings that drives me to look for a way to express in a painterly way what i feel about the photo i took.
I agree about the ruggedness of filters and plug-ins, because they will never add something, they only modify or take away !
Thanks for your honest comment, always appreciated !
Peter

Hi Peter, I alwasy find this very difficult to comment on. The most honest reaction would be that I just dislike it. But I understand that needs some explanation.
In levels of art, there is a distinct difference between a painting and a photograph. The combination (painting on a photograph or combined techniques) is also known, but I just fail to see the point of making a photo look like a painting.
If you want to create a painting, I think nothing matches the quality and feel of actual canvas / paper, paints and brushes. The PS filters are just too rigid and lifeless, or maybe even too perfect. Likewise, if you want to create a photographic image, nothing beats a real photo.
Having seen more of your work (and commented on it) I think this kind of rework does not do justice at your high quality standard of your portfolio.
Obviously, this is a personal opinion, and reading Richards' comment just proves it. And that's what I like about Usefilm, and what I value in anybody who pushes the limits in their quest and experiments. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,
Hugo

Very artistic... like the painting-style alot... Very well done..The powerfull colours are great..cause usually these kinds of photos turn out too pale...that's my problem, anyways!!!
Best regards Merete :-)

I think you are on the right track. This is looking like a loose pen and ink, or brush and ink, on wet paper, letting the color run a little past the boundaries of forms. I like it!
