Hi Opal...we were very fortunate here in the Venice/Sarasota area...a little beach damage, but all in all very little damage.

Hi Jim....to be honest I was on a first date. The Kodak fits in my purse so nice and when I left my home, I had no idea that eventually we would take a ride down to Punta Gorda. We had planned to have lunch, then spend the afternoon at the beach, and I am still not sure how good it is to keep a camera in a hot, very hot car for several hours. As it turned out, I was sorry I did not have the D70 along...but very glad, my Kodak is always in my purse, lol.....Gloria

One of my first tasks when I got home was to check and see if there was any news from Gloria. Of course I'm both joyed and saddened by your pictures. I'm relieved that you and your house escaped the devastation but I'm shaken by what you've shown us here. A reminder of how vulnerable we all are.

Gloria - amazing shot, excellent, but it does make you realise what nature can do. There was a flash flood ina little town in Cornwall yesterday and watching the shots of cars being washed down the main street, was frightening. Margaret

Wow what an appropriate title and how unbelievable what havoc nature can wreak. The clouds still look incredibly menacing.

Hi Cary...the odd light is present due to the fact, that the sky was turning so dark, due to huge thunderclouds forming. It was almost as if it was a clear, hot summer day, on one side of the street...and on the other side, a dark menacing storm. I could not help but wonder, how the people here will feel when they see clouds forming from this point on....Gloria

Wow, fitting title Gloria, what a mess! But you know, there is an odd light and charachter that gives it an abstract feel.
