Dave, The tilt of the bale is very intreging. Great balance with the bale on the left and clouds on the right. I prefer the color version. Best regards, Paul

Saw this thumbnail in your random shots, I love it, I have wanted to do many shots of hay bales but usually travelling between destinations with too little time for photography, great capture. And no snow either, what a bonus

I really like your composition on this. I just commented on a similar photo in black and white that had multiple bails in a field. But your execution of just one lonely bail and a gorgeous sky is excellent!

Dave, I compared this with the B&W you offered earlier, also with the enhanced version suggested by Emmanuel. At times when lighting is wrong you must modify to get a good photo. but in general I like a photo that shows just what the eye would see when filming nature as you have here. I prefer this one.

Excellent composition and colors. Thank you so much for commenting on mine earlier. Many times I try different settings on this little Fuji. I can't remember exactly what I was using, but it was either in SP mode on landscape, or A mode at f9 and the mmetering was set at multi. This brings a lot more in focus, I've found.

Hello Dave, I love B&W picture but in this case i prefer this coloured version. It's a nice composition. Just a little bit too dark but nothing than can be fix with few click in PS ;-)

Thanks for your suggestion Emmanuel. Actually this is the original photo right out of the camera, which I prefer if at all possible, not a composite. I intended it to compare to the B/W version I posted earlier. You've saturated the colours nicely, it adds a lot to the photo, and in fact is similar to other versions I've made. I guess great minds think alike! Thanks for your comments on the others, as well! Dave.

I used to do so much black and white but now I don't see how a picture is improved by removing the color. Beautiful and dramatic. Neal
