nice perspective, the ocean in that area is amazing, so craggy with rocks everywhere, the tide pools that emerge at low tide are amazing too. starfish and little sea creatures everywhere. haystack rock is a beautiful place, if you get a chance to view it

I just really like the way you see things. I think the depth of field here is so effective. Not only does it give a great sense of depth, but the unsharp rock in the background provides a shadowy threat. sort of a Memento Mori. The black and white really works well. This is a beautiful, moody, minor key shot.

Hi Gayle, Love this type of shot in B&W. I personally find the rock in the background a little distracting and would have concentrated on the driftwood more, maybe moving to the right more if it was possible - perhaps you have tried this already? Another view i could imagine would be to loose the arch on crop it there. It makes a nice pano view. Waht do you think.
Best wishes - Neil

Gayle -

when I first looked at it, I thought it was the bust of Poseidon back there - and it still looks like that to me -

which is what I like about this, the way it makes me look at it again and again

Driftwood does have its fascinating shapes and this one is great. Can see why it caught your eye. Looks like the gateway to Mr. & Mrs. Beaver's home.
