I hope you don't mind I had a play with your image to help you understand the steps I followed.
In PS select the magnetic lasso tool and click around the flamingo. Go to Select, Feather and I chose 1 pixel, click okay.
Go to select, inverse and this will select the area around the flamingo.
Go to Filter, Blur, Gaussian Blur and I chose a 1 pixel blur, click okay.
I then cropped.
I just did this to show you what can be achieved.

Hey there Judi, thank you so much for your comments. I cropped the photo, but I have no idea what a gaussian blur is. Can you do it with Photoshop,and are there any online tutorials that can help me figure out how to add it to my photo. I'm a total amature when it comes to this(less than two months using my 35mm SLR), so any help is good help. Thanks again for your feedback.

Thank you so much Howie for your feedback. I took your advice and cropped closer to the bird, I think it looks better. Will post the "new" version of the photo here soon. Thanks again...

I tend to agree with Howie here. You could probably oversome this by cropping just enough to eliminate the flamingos on the right and giving a gaussian blur to the background. Doing this would really accentuate the main focus of the image, and that being the centre pair of flamingos. Well done all the same.

Nice light and detail but a little central and too much going on in the background. I would crop closer to the bird. I love Profia though and the quality of gaumet comes through here.
