About Well it was the old side trip on the way home from work again. I found myself in the midst of 4 bucks, 3 does and triplet fawns, this being one of them. I went down the road and set up my camera on the tripod. I walked back with the tripod and they didn't seem to mind me being there. I shot over 100 shots of all the deer before they spread out all over the place. A great evening. Now I got to find some food !!

Jim, another great photograph. Something I find interesting is that the deer is looking at you, obviously alert, yet the tail is down. Do they only raise it when they are spooked and running? Boy, the lighting is perfect, too; isn't it? Way to go! Rodney

See my response to Christine on the previous photo. There is a lot of time spend where nothing happens, you see nothing, then you have a night like last night and WOW its all worth it. I spent over an hour with these animals and loved every minute of it. It is so cool to be "accepted" in thier midst. In fact the mother of the fawns crossed a little path and laid down within 50 feet of me where she could keep an eye on her young. The more you learn about your subject the easier it is to photograph them. Where do they bed down, where do they feed, what are the routes between these 2 places. In this case Food and shelter are next to each other. And then there is the problem of predation. They will try and avoid that. Find a place where the animals can eat, sleep, and not be eaten, and you have the place you want to be.
Keep posting your shots and enjoying the hobby.

Wonderful, I would be in heaven if I could see so many deer. Even if I couldn't get so many brilliant shots. It must have been wonderful, worth waiting for your dinner!!

I can't seem to get enough of your wildlife images. They are superb in detail and colour. The clarity is amazing that I can feel the velvet texture of her coat.

Such great sharpness and beautiful colors. I love how the deer is looking at the camera, almost as if it knows your there. Also great lighting and perfect DOF. Keep up the good work.
