Hi Jon, i like ths one too, but it's less "refreshing" than the first, and a tad less balanced. But that's in hindsight. If I sumbled across this one without having seen the other, I would've only commented on the composition, where the bird seems t be adging near the bottom a tad too much. I think placing it a bit mor up to the right of the centerlines would've created a stronger composition. All other aspects are well excecuted, and a very fine shot!

Beautiful capture and lovely the way the foreground branches upon which the wonderfully detailed and lit bird is perched are so crisp trailing off to the soft blur.

Very lucky capture, sounds like a nesting bird for sure. Or scoping out the limbs!!
