This has a drammatic effect and tension (hope, this word is right what i mean),and the colours look irreal.Great shot.
Thanks a lot for your kind comment and opinion,
regards,Ursula

The original is very monochromatic as this is taken through several rain squalls and snow, coming between me and Taiaroa Head. I was going to dump it but like how it turned out. Sent you signal off-line re the D70.

John, this is a bit too ginger for my taste. I would like to have seen a less monochromatic representation. The land form is nice as is the sky, and your philosophical statement. When did you get the D70 ?

How true,John.....wonderful capture and marvelous tones! Excellent project!
p.s. I love the D 70,it's lighter and has easier navigation than the D 100 ( which I still have as a primary body ). I have the impression that the images' quality is overall better, maybe due to the newer sensor. With the same lenses colors seem more realistic. It has amateurish features, but wait....I'm not belittling them, they can be useful if you want to shoot in Jpg. This allows you to save loss of details since you can set the camera to your tastes and have your photos ready and optymized for the print or the web.
One fault: when you have to shoot in the dark, especially on tripod and want to tilt the camera, the buttons are so small and so close to the camera's edge that it's quite easy to push them by mistake.
Cheers!!!! Antonella

John,

very strong image. I wonder in which colours this one will work as well. Probably in full colour, B&W, ice-blue.
Very well done,
Jeroen

Lovely contrast and colour... the short diagonal leading to the peninsula adds just the right note of movement to keep me engaged in this quiet meditation.
