About This is my face, reflected off a vase. I was painting with a flashlight during a 5-second exposure, thus the distortion. Then, I imported the texture of a fire-ant mound in Photoshop as the texture. Finally, I performed a slight liquify to the edges.

Excellent work and very creative idea. I like it very much. Although I think if I had used the light on my face, I wouldn't need anything extra to look like the devil...LOL!! :P

Yeah, I'd spent some time in a hotel room, bored, when I took that picture. The photo didn't turn out like I wanted, so then I began to play. ;) Glad you liked it!

Fascinating PS work. Malefic image if i ever saw one, straight out of the worst nightmare. Reminds me of that movie from a way back, can't recall the name, the guy had needles stuck all over his face and head. Very imaginative work.

Very creative image, Paul! The face is actually easier to make out in the thumbnail (I think because of the reduced detail,) but after seeing that it's easy to make it out here, too. For some reason, it has a somewhat 'malevolent' feeling to it! A true original - well done!

Definitely suited to the unusual vision category. Fascinating stuff - we all need a challenge occasionally :) I can see the image of a face (hence "Apparition"?), but I wouldn't hazard a guess as to the real composition of this, er... 'thing'. Kind regards
