Even a slug can look beautiful. This is a very well done photo, composition, lighting and DOF are great.

I was walking in the forest lol in Luxembourg on a river bed . And I almost stepped on it, but it saw this bright orange colour and look to it. First I thought it was dead so I pushed it whit a little stick and it was moving his head. Strange thing was the black hole in his head lol. But OK it was interesting enough to take this picture. If you look again you will see this little mug. Well this naked slug gets this title mug in his aye I could almost feel it.

Best regards,

Harry

Kind of a scary looking beast. Nice composition as he comes around the corner. He doesn't look like he moves very fast, but still, I imagine it was difficult to get his head in sharp focus like you did. Nice job!

Cool! Very interesting closeup! In Sweden they are called "murder snails" but I don't really know why. Surely they don't murder anyone... haha. But I guess it damages a lot of growing things etc.

I saw my first last summer, so they are not that common. Although it was brown, not this cool red-brown. It was about 10 cm long!! My son touched it and got some weird slippery "liquid" from that on his hand, and it was almost impossible to wash it off! I swear, we had to rub it so hard, it was really extreme!

Ps. My "Stink bug with eggs" that you commented on... I have read about that insect now and it's very common in most countries. So you probably do have them... hehe. But they are not so easy to see and they are small like a nail on a little finger.

Teunis
