About Taken at the same time and place as my last rhodophoto. Somehow, a few orange poppies had managed to infiltrate an entire bed of pink rhodos. Again, it was breezy and I was tripodless. (Excuses, excuses!) Macro filter +2.

Oooh! Wow - what wonderful color contrast! Only nature can pull something like this off without it looking gaudy! The transluscence of the poppies is awesome (what an overused word *that* has become!) I'm jumping on the bandwagon and saying that I prefer the +6 version, too, because it balances the colors better and gives more emphasis to the poppies. I find the green leaves in the first version a little distracting, too, and there's less of them in the second version. This one's a wall-hanger!

Great color and an irresitible photo-op. I don't see how a tripod would help you with the breeze, but nevermind :-) I too prefer the tighter framing for the same reason as Colette. Being picky I could wish for better separation between the two yellow poppies.

Since red is a very strong colour, isolating the orange poppy by zooming in I think works better. Great colour in either.

Here's the same scene at +6. Which do you prefer?

Nice colors and who cares about the tripod when you get stuff like this, well done...
