About Another misty morning so I just had to nip into the bluebell wood before work this morning. The light was quite spooky, coming through the mist and the bluebells, although past their best, now completely cover the forest floor.

I didn't even know that such beauty existed! This is stunning. I love the depth that the mist gives this scene and the mixed colours of the flowers and the trees.
I look forward to finding more gems in your portfolio... thanks for the comment on Last Light Fading, which led me here!

Barry,
for me Lisa Gerrard (ex Dead Can Dance)and Elizabeth Frazer have influenced all other bands who followed either the spiritual or the ethereal genre. The voices of there 2 women are a kind of "nepenthe" to me...
www.prikosnovenie.com (mp3s start with Fleur and Pinknruby that are influenced by Cocteau Twins)
and all the other suggestions I have at my bio note will be of help to you as Elizabeth hides behind all lovely music.
When I saw your image I felt it that it had to do with Cocteau Twins, i am sure now you have consolidated the music since you made it appear at an image.
great work!!!

I think you have out 'bluebelled' us all here Barry. A fantastic image, one which I'm going to have to mark as a favourite so that I have something to aim for next spring ;-)

Another editor's choice candidate here Altaf - damn he's never listening when you want him ;-)

Absolutely stunning, Barry!
Superb shot in every respect.
If it was mine, I think I'd be tempted to crop it a bit from the right ~ to get rid of the brightest area of white and that small part of a tree trunk.
Brilliant picture though ~ deserves to be hung on your wall!
Kind regards, Chris

Mary, I'm glad someone else knows that album. I think Elizabeth Fraser's singing on that album is absolutely beautiful and I often think of it when I'm in Micheldever Wood. Thanks for commenting!

Megan, this is in Micheldever Woods which is mid-way between Winchester and Basingstoke in Hampshire, right next to the A33 which runs between the two towns. Winchester's a great city to visit too with it's ancient cathedral and peaceful water meadows. Worth a trip with the weather forecast to be good this weekend.

Wow this is lovely! The mist really works, it looks almost the same colour as the bluebells themselves. Would you mind telling me where this is? I'm only in the UK for a couple of years, and the sun never seems to be out during bluebell season! I guess this weekend is my last chance. I'm in the South East, so if this would is in the South as well I'm going to be delighted!
